The little plane that could (not start...)
For those of you who don't know when I'm not moonlighting as a photographer, I actually spend my days being a geologist. Yup...I am a real life geologist! I get funny reactions all the time when I mention what I do to people...apparently you just don't meet that many hip and happin' lady geologists...anyhoooo, today was the day I was going to get to go for a little plane ride for my geologist job. I truly mean little plane ride folks...this was a little two seater with room for the pilot + co-poliot (ME!) SO. EXCITED. I even dreamt about it last night. Welllll, we get to the airport, and get to the plane, and get into our seats, and put our headsets on...and the plane won't start. Alas, it was too cold for the little plane that could (not start). Hopefully next week i'll be lucky, and we'll try round two, and I'll have pictures from up in the air. The pictures today are brought to you from the ground.

Antarctica?
One of my new favorite things to follow while I'm at work is a blog called "Bus2Antarctica" from a fellow at National Geographic. It details his adventures while riding a bus from Washington DC allll the way to Antarctica. So. Cool. What the hecka does this have to do with pictures you say? Well...I think I've always had a secret desire to take pictures for National Geographic. Photojournalism is something I'd like to do a little more of...so today's post is my attempt to play National Geographic explorer...haha, yeah right...I'll work on it :) I call this one "CarRide2Pittsburgh". ALMOST as cool as Antartica. Almost.

I love passing on some of my photography tips and tricks to others...so if you have questions...feel free to email me!

The Giving Tree...
Random-picture-of-the-day-that-I-liked part 2: The Giving Tree. Have you ever read it? It was a favorite of mine as a little girl! I don't know why that story came to mind when I saw this tree...but I thought it was a lovely tree.

Riding off into the Sunset
A good photographer should never be caught without her camera! Luckily I rushed home and caught the tail end of a beautiful sunset tonight!
