The Land of Ohio

Some shots around Kirtland, Ohio...not quite NYC, but still cool!

The Land of Pennsylvania Part Dos...

Here are some pictures from around the house...

The Land of Pennsylvania

A couple of shots from my time here in Pennsylvania! We were going to head to New York City, but alas...the snow deterred us.  Instead we spent some time around the house, went to Kirtland and explored downtown Pittsburgh. Here are some pictures from exploring the museum in Pittsburgh...

The Season of Giving

What a busy week! I've got a family photo shoot tomorrow, and a wedding on Friday, and then off to the east coast for some time with my family!

In the hustle and bustle of this season, I just wanted to take a second for a personal post to shout out how grateful I am for the blessings in my life.  I had an experience this evening that reminded me of what Christmas is all about...GIVING! You know what I have? I have a family, I have a job, I have an education, I have friends, I have a car, I have a roof over my head, and food to eat, and I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life...I have everything I need!

I have been given so, so much...how could I not give back to someone who really needed help? I'm grateful for that opportunity, and experience...and will remember for a long time, it really is the giving that matters!

P.S...I also have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree...stellar!

Some Serious Stylin'...

You know those days you try on 50 gazillion different shirts, and none of them look good? Weeellll, I'm having one of those kind of "days" trying to revamp my blog.  It's time for some serious style...and it's just taking a while to pull it together. Sooooo, i hope you enjoy the ever changing look of my layout until I nail it down....hopefully soon! :)

Help Emily Jones...

Over Thanksgiving,  John Jones died in a caving accident at Nutty Putty Caves here in Utah County, leaving behind his young wife, Emily, and a young daughter. Emily is also expecting a baby in the summer. I was so sad as I followed the story...and was even more sad when I found out that John was my friend Nathan's brother-in-law.

Nathan is one of the kindest people I know, and I wanted to do something to give back to his family...and help his sister in this time of need. I found this blog "A Daily Scoop" by Stephanie Waite, and she has pulled together an awesome auction to raise donations for the John and Emily Jones Memorial.  I've decided to auction a 1 hour photography session...see Stephanie's blog for details. Lots of other things that are for auction too!

Festival of Trees

riday was Festival of Trees night, what fun! So much to see (and to take pictures of!). What is the Festival of Trees you might ask? Well, for almost 40 years the Festival of Trees has been a "Gift of Love" to children at Primary Children's Medical Center. People donate more than 800 decorated Christmas trees each year to be auctioned off...and wreaths, and arts and crafts too!  Every penny raised at the Festival of Trees goes to provide medical care for children in need at Primary Children's Medical Center. SO NEAT! This awesomeness of this hits particularly close to home...I have a little brother with clef pallet and clef lip, and he has spend a good deal of time at Primary Children's.  We love Primary Children's!
